Driver's Ed Discount

Completing an MTO-approved driver's education course shortens the G1 stage from 12 to 8 months, but does not shorten the G2 stage.

🚗

G1 Restrictions

G1 drivers must be accompanied by a fully licensed driver, cannot drive on 400-series highways, and must maintain a zero blood alcohol level.

Extended Novice Period

Convictions or suspensions during G1 or G2 can extend the novice period beyond the standard minimums.

Booking a Road Test

Being eligible does not guarantee test availability — DriveTest wait times can add weeks or months to your timeline.
