See the reinstatement fee and any stacked program costs for getting your Ontario driver's licence back after a suspension.
Estimate only — not legal advice. Excludes insurance impact and any fine already owed.In Ontario, getting your licence back after a suspension involves a $281 reinstatement fee plus any program costs tied to the suspension — for example a Remedial Measures or 'Back on Track' course for alcohol-related suspensions, and ignition interlock installation and monitoring. The largest ongoing cost is usually the increase in insurance premiums that the suspension-triggering conviction causes for years afterward.
Applies to most licence reinstatements in Ontario, regardless of the reason for suspension (except medical suspensions).
An added reinstatement surcharge ($250/$350/$450) applies on top of the base fee for stunt driving suspensions.
Impaired driving suspensions also require the Back on Track education program and an ignition interlock before reinstatement.
Fighting the underlying ticket or charge is often the only way to avoid these costs entirely.
